Zalchos Privacy Policy

Zalchos is operated by 2800119 Alberta Inc, 1085 Mahogany Blvd SE, Calgary, Alberta T3M 3X4, Canada ("Zalchos", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Zalchos customer app, the Zalchos Driver app, our vendor portal and zalchos.com, how we use it, and your choices. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's PIPEDA. Contact: support@zalchos.com.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number and password (stored securely, never in readable form).
• Delivery information: delivery addresses and delivery instructions.
• Order information: items ordered, store, amounts, tips, order status and order history.
• Age and identity checks: alcohol orders are for adults of legal drinking age in Alberta (18+). Drivers check government photo ID at delivery. We record that the check was done [confirm: we do not store a copy of the ID].
• Location: customers' delivery address and, while an order is active, your approximate or precise location where you allow it. Drivers' precise location while they are online or on a delivery, so that customers can track the order and we can route it.
• Driver information: name, contact details, vehicle details if provided, and the identity and bank information needed to pay you, which is collected and held by our payment provider Stripe.
• Vendor information: business name, address, licence details, contact details and payout details.
• Payment information: card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
• Device and usage information: device type, app version, crash and error logs, and notification tokens so we can send order updates.
• Messages you send to support.

2. How we use it

• To create and manage your account and process, deliver and support orders.
• To verify age for alcohol deliveries and to meet liquor-licensing rules.
• To match orders with drivers, show live tracking and calculate routes and delivery fees.
• To process payments, pay vendors and drivers, and calculate taxes.
• To send order updates and service messages. We send marketing only if you agree, and you can opt out at any time.
• To prevent fraud and misuse, keep the service secure and fix problems.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Who we share it with

• Stores (vendors) receive your name, order details and delivery address so they can prepare and hand over your order.
• Drivers receive your name, delivery address, phone number if needed for the delivery, and order details.
• Service providers who work for us: Supabase (database and hosting), Stripe (payments and driver payouts), Google (maps and routing), Netlify (web hosting) [confirm: add any email, SMS or analytics provider you turn on].
• Authorities or others where the law requires it, or to protect safety and rights.
• A buyer or successor if our business is sold, with the same protections.

Some providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it can be accessed under that country's laws.

4. Location

The apps ask for location permission only to show maps, route deliveries and track orders. You can turn location off in your phone settings, but delivery features may not work properly. The Driver app uses location while a driver is online or on a delivery [confirm: whether background location is used; if yes, say so here].

5. How long we keep it

We keep account information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as order, payment and tax records, which we keep for up to 7 years.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent, by emailing support@zalchos.com. Customers and drivers can delete their account inside the app: Profile, then Delete my account. Our page at zalchos.com/delete-account explains this.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and secure providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

Zalchos is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date above.
